For Youth ages 12 and Up*

The Power of 10! Heritage Works kicks off its 10th-anniversary celebration year with a 10-hour, youth-led, youth-planned celebration. A collaborative event, Kwanza Night is open to HW youth and youth from the dance, drum and cultural groups of the African Drum and Dance Parent Association, Detroit School for the Arts, Living Arts, Marcus Garvey Academy, Matrix Theatre Company, Nanou Djapo, and Nsoroma Institute. See partner organizations or link below for Rules, Release and Registration form. Form and admission are required to attend. You must be on the invite list of HW or one of the partner organizations.

Lock-In Schedule**--
8 - 8:45 PM—Check-In into Lock-In
9 PM-12 M - Free Gym, Rock Climbing & Swimming
12 M - 1:30 AM - African Drum with Marietou Camara and Kissima Diabate
1:30 - 3 AM - African Dance with Marietou Camara and Kissima Diabate
12 M - 5 AM - Party with DJ Kenny
5 AM - Movie

Bring your swim suit! Bring an awesome attitude! Bring your drums and gym shoes! We love and respect our parents but do not bring them unless you are age 11 and under.

*Youth younger than age 12 can attend with parent or adult chaperone.
