If you participated in HW Youth Ensemble before and want to participate during the 2016-17 school year, you must attend this audition. Come prepared to dance--leotard, lapa, shorts, etc. Prepare a 2-minute solo and bring recorded music. Audition will include group work, solo work and short interview.

Heritage Works seeks young artists ages 14-18 that like to drum, dance and sing for its Youth Ensemble. For more information on audition requirements follow the audition link at www.heritageworks.org or email auditions@heritageworks.org.

Audition Requirements;
The audition consists of African dance and drum group work/class with samplings of singing, speaking and modern dance. Following the group work, each student will perform a solo of no more than two minutes duration in any genre of dance. Your music, if you use it, should be on an iPod or a device accessible by auxiliary cord.

Please come prepared to move. Wear fitted dance or performance wear that covers your knees and stomach, with your hair tied back. No jewelry other than small earrings are permitted, and baggy clothing over your dance wear is prohibited.

Students will complete the necessary paperwork upon arrival and need not bring a photo or resume. Visitors are not permitted to observe the audition, but may return for informal conversation with staff following the audition.
