\n\nHeritage Works is providing a summer arts intensive program for youth
ages 11-18. This program will be led by practicing Detroit artists and be
gins June 27th. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in all str
ands but have a choice of Dance\, Drum and Fashion Design. \n\nApparel
Design and Construction\nOrientation: Monday\, June 27th at 12 N\nDays
and Times: Tuesdays - Thursdays\, June 27th - August 21st from 1 - 3 PM*
\nInstructor: Tillicha Harris\nYoung artists will learn apparel design and
construction\, including pattern making and garment construction. Program
culminates in a fashion showcase on August 5th and a young urban African
fashion show August 19-21st. Additional costs for sewing supplies\, fabric
\, fashion show registration fee and equipment required. \n\nDance & Dr
um\nOrientation: Monday\, June 27th at 12 N\nDays and Times: Mondays &
Wednesdays\, June 27th - August 23rd from 3:15 - 5 PM*\nInstructors: Imma
nuel and Kamaal Greene\nThis strand offers students a variety of activitie
s and instruction in traditional West African drum and dance and culminate
s in rehearsals and performances with visiting master artists August 5th\,

e for Creative Studies and Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit. These partners

n Williams\nPlaces everyone! Acting students will delve into the dramatic
arts\, exploring a variety of theater arts\, acting styles\, audition skil
ls in order to develop professional skills and produce culminating perform
ances. \n\nFashion Design\nOrientation: Monday\, June 27th at 12 N
\nDays & Times: Mondays & Wednesdays\, June 27th - August 5 from 1 -3 PM\n
Instructor: Joye Ofei\nYoung artists will learn basic design and professio
nal skills\, including fashion illustration and accessory and apparel cons
truction. Program culminates in a fashion showcase on August 5th and a you
ng urban African fashion show August 19-21st. Additional costs for sewing
supplies\, fabric\, fashion show registration fee and equipment required.
